Among the current developments in electronic music, modern jungle is to my ears one of the most exciting. First, it’s a revival movement that draws from a truly progressive musical lineage and isn’t content to go backwards. Second, this mostly online scene churning out volumes of top quality material has been doing so for a very small but dedicated fanbase. That last part finally seems to be changing, though. In recent months Tim Reaper has scored a Resident Advisor mix and a DJ Mag feature, while Coco Bryce has appeared in 2020 recaps and the sound only seems to get bigger.
